   When life appeared a Paradise,
   Of happiness extreme.
   For all was innocence and glee

   And nigh this town, it lifts its head
   Beside the public way,
   And graced by e'en a flowing bed.
   Fast crumbling to decay
   An ivied porch, it cannot boast.
   To make it gay or seem
   Its bareness shames old Antrim's coast.

   Our master was a friend to all
   Although at time he would.

   He did so for their good.
