- Long ago as there were no doctors in this locality people had their own cures.
If a person got a burn sweet-oil and lime water were mixed and then applied to the burn after been poured on a linen cloth.
Another cure for a burn was to get a man-keeper's belly. (A rural name for a smooth newt)No one liked to try this cure because they heard that a man-keeper would run down a person's belly.
A cure for sore eyes was known in this locality by almost very family. First a house-leek was got and cut into small pieces. Tea was wet and let cool. When cold it was mixed with the small pieces(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
