As colds were very common in this district everyone had a cure, perhaps each family had a different one. Garlic was taken from a garden and cleaned. Then it was cut into small pieces and boiled with new milk. When ready it was drunk by the sick person.
As consumption was not common in this district but thinking someone would get this awful disease some of the inhabitants had its cure. Asse's milk was got and given to the sick person to drink.
When a child got a chin-cough it was taken to a field in which there was an ass. Then it was put under the asse's belly three times. The people also had another way to cure the chin-cough by borrowing a wooden cup from a person and let the child that was complaining drink out of it several times.
