  1. There was a drowning in Lough Owel some years ago. There were three men in a boat namely Mr. Quinn, Mr Dolan, and Mr Daly, all natives of Monroe, Bunbrosna.
    They were very near the shores of the lake, when the boat capsized, for they lost an oar, and they could not steer the boat.
    Mr. Quinn and Mr. Dolan were drowned. Mr Daly did all he could to save them but in vain.
    There was also another drowning
