There is a fort in a field owned by Gibney Victualler, Ballinacargy and the fairies are supposed to be there every night.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
A man named John Kelly of Ballintire was coming home after rambling about 12 O about 1 1/2 years ago. He could see his own door from where he was he Gibney's fort field but he couldn't reach his own house no matter how much he walked. At last he fell through Mr Martin's door. Mr Martin lives in Irishtown, Ballinacarrigy. To get there he had to cross a very wide drain and he could not tell how he got across it.
Dick O'Hara of Rathaspie was crossing the stile out of the field of the fairy fort (Gibney's fort). His dog called the "long dog" Fido was with him. He saw a little black thing like a cat with fiery eyes. He "nearly got weak" but he crossed the stile and then went astray. He walked a long time and was just about to walk into the canal when the long dog went in front of him and kept him back. He went home alright then.
