He was drowned before aid came.Mr. Miller who lives in Carrickbán near Ballynacargy had his house burned to the ground four years ago. Everything of value was destroyed. There was a very big hayshed near the house which was burned this year. There were eighteen tons of hay, five tons of straw and all his farm machinery in the shed. Everything was burned to ashes. It is said that it was a spark which flew from the chimney which caused the fire. A few years ago Diptheria and scarlet fever were very common in this district. They caused three deaths. There was a mysterious light which used to rise in Kilmacnevin and travel through Upper Ballasallagh and down into Lower Ballasallagh down through Comminstown across the Inny River up to Corry and across the Inny River again, up through Farra across the end of Lough Iron into Tristernagh and back into Kilmacnevin again. It was seen by Peter Leavy on different occasions. It is a brilliant light(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
