- There is a special trap made from rushes for catching pinkins. Two rushes are bent and placed between your fingers. Then straight rushes are put out through a little loop at the end and they are bent back to raise the sides of the pinkin trap. The buts of the rushes are tied together with a cord and so there is a handle to the pinkin trap. When the pinkins are swimming in the water, the pinkin trap is shoved in under them, and then raised. The water drains out and so the pinkin is left at the bottom of the pinkin trap.
