- There is a mound in Mount Temple which gave its name. They say one of the Temples rode a horse down it and then it was called Mount Temple. More say a King's crown was hidden there and that parish was sometimes called Caulry meaning the King's crown. Caul means crown and Ry means King. It is the shape of a turned up crock and very high.(continues on next page)
