In the townsland of Ardbuckan there is a field belonging to Patrick Bannon and it is called cave field. The reason it is called this name was because there was a battle fough here, between the Tuata de Dannans and the Firbolgs. The Dannans defeated the Firbolgs and the Firbolgs fled. Four of the Filbogs dug a cave and went down into it. There are fourteen steps down to this cave, and there are two rooms in it. There is a big stone slab rolled into the hole outside for a door. It was also used as a hiding place in which people used to conceal themselves in times of danger. The rooms are about five feet high and four feet wide. People tried to go down into this cave but before going down they used to let down a candle on a rope to see would it die, also(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
