    locality. There used to be great sorrow on everyone around before the departure. Those leaving would remain a week going around on their friends. On the morning of their departure every one around the locality would go to the train with them. The land around this locality is very hilly and good. There are no woods or lakes in this townsland It gets its name from the celebrated Bruighean-de-Choga one of the six great hostels of Ireland in ancient times. The old fort or Bruiden can still be traced. In the year thirty a great tragedy occurred when Cormac Conlomgeas son of Conor Mac Nessa king of Ulster was killed here. There is a holy well in this townland and near it is a head stone.
