- There are four forts in this locality. They run in a straight line and stand about a quarter of a mile from each other. These forts are on the lands of James Higgins, Michael Maloney, Patrick Walshe, and Hugh Garahan. They are all raised up in large high mounds and are surrounded by bushes and trees.
The old people used to say it was not right to cut a bush or a tree in a fort. In the fort on Patrick Walshe's land are supposed to be caves because there is a hollow depression on the top.
People used to say that there was gold in the fort on my father's land under a vary large tree. About eighteen years ago three young men, all still alive began to dig the fort to get the gold. After a short time(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
