The name of our calf is Polly. The names of our cows are Bawny, and Blackie. When they are driving the cows in and out to the field they say Go on.
The name the people call the cowhouse is the Byre. The cows are tied by chains.
Some people call the knot on the chain a "granny knot other people call it a realf". A lot of people hang a horseshoe and an old shoe in the Byre because when the people are going to the fair they throw them after them for luck.
Long ago when young horses were going to be sold at fairs the old people used to tie a big bow of red flannel on their tail for luck.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
