- There were three or four old schools in this district long ago, Killoe, Esker and Corboy. Killoe school stood where the church is now. It was a two storey building. The upper story was for the young children. The teachers who taught in it were Mrs Dunne and Miss Meehan.
Corboy school is situated on the road from Corboy to Mostrim. No pupils attended it and it was given as a home to Patrick Kennedy. It was a very Protestant district at that time.
