- There is no fort in my townland but there is one in a neighbouring townland. It belongs to Thomas Duffy of Moyne. It is circular in shape, and there is only one opening on it. Long ago the people believed that there were fairies in the forts. People often found Geanncanach's pipes in the fields when ploughing or digging. They belonged to the fairies. They have a very long stem, and a terribly small head. I would not get my little finger into it.
I heard that once a certain man was passing by a fort one night, and he heard music and dancing inside of it. He got afraid and started running for home, but he soon lost his pass, and he kept walking on, and he not knowing where he was going. He then knelt down and turned his coat wrong side out, and put it on(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
