It was not an uncommon incident, that other marriages followed or "matches" were introduced or developed from these marriages feasts and "sprees".
The old customs of Band-begging survives to the present day. The night after the pair were married boys disguised themselves, and went as band-beggars to where the wedding was being held. They usually brought musical instruments. First they played and danced outside the door, and as it was considered they were well disposed towards the people of the house, the groom then invited them inside. There they danced one of them dancing the bride and another danced the bride's maid. Then they got refreshment-(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
