- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)he said "I will take you there for the night". The boy answered, "I would be delighted to stay there for the night. I don't care what happens". So he led the boy by the arm into the sheep-pen, and the kind shepherd went home and brought him back a bowl of bread and milk. The boy was very grateful and ate a very hearty meal. The shepherd bade him good night, and good luck, and added "I will see you in the morning". Now the poor boy was left alone. He took out his rosary beads and started to pray, when all of a sudden, at about one o'clock the door began to creak and the windows to rattle, and a crowd of cats came scratching and roaring down the chimney. The boy was so terrified, he did not know where to get away from them. He put his hand to a barrel that was in the house and tumbled into it for safety. Now the cats came down the chimney, about twenty of them, and one said to the other, "well Tom, light the fire, it is a very cold night". They put sticks and coal down and in a few minutes they had a roaring fire.Then they gathered round the fire to tell stories. There was one little black cat that had a hump on his back, and one of them said(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
