- Long ago there were fairs held in Nash, Scar, Taghmon. A fair was also held in Foulksmills which started at the Cross of Regorey, which was held for weeks. The place where the Fair was held in Taghmon is still called Horse Fair where the horses were sold. Toll money was not paid to the owner of the field in which the fairs were held. When the animals were sold money was always given as luck. The bargain was made by striking hands. When the bargain was made they would go in to the public house to drink. When a pony or horse was sold the halter was given in as luck, this is still done. When the fair was over the people started a faction fight and many a brave man was killed with a blackthorn.
