- After the battle of Horetown, two of the insurgents were arrested by three yeomen. They tied them on a car and were bringing them on to the for at Duncannon through Ballycullane.At that time there was a shop just at the bridge of Mullinderry and the man that owned it was William Reville. The three yeomen went in to get a drink. They came out drunk got up on the car and going up the hill at Cunningham's they saw the well so they got down to get a drink of water.They left their guns on the car and one of the prisoners snatched up a gun and shot the three soldiers dead. He loosed his fellow-prisoner and the two of them escaped, the 3 yeomen are buried nearby.
- A certain man lived in Leegaun by the name of Pat Roche. He was after fighting in Horetown and he had nothing left to defend himself now but the barrel of his gun. He met one of his enemies in Bryanstown. The enemy had a sword and both began to fight Pat was able to ward off the strokes of his antagonist every time, but he fell over(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
