Me Aunt Nelly often tould me all about the burnin' of Scullabogue barn. She said that they could hear the roars o' the poor people in the barn an that they were so frightened they ran away to the moors.she said the people weren't burned it was smothered they were, the roof o' the barn was set fire to an' the poor people all fell on top o' wan another with the fright an' they were smothered - about ninety or so - 'twas no wan from this place that put 'em into the barn - it was thought it was from Clongeen parish they were, an' twas a fella named Jim Sinnot who gathered them up.Me Aunt Nelly said that the way they tested them(continues on next page)- Collector
