Henry Levingston,
Bolinahaney.
Inform. recd. from:
Wm Levingston (parent) (See front page) - Every farmer has a name on his fields and there are some very interesting names on fields, for example on our farm there are the Payfield, the Hayseed field, the Rock, the Brow, the Field at the back of Carrol's, the Little Field, the Scrude and the Hill.
I do not know why these names were given to some of these fields.
The Brow is on the side of a hill and that is why it is called by that name.
People are said to have earned pay in the Payfield but I do not for what work they were paid. I do not know how the others got their names.
A stream flows through our bog called Luke's stream. The bridge over it at the road is called Lukes Bridge. My Dad thinks a man name Luke built the bridge. This stream(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
