    My Home District
The townland in which I live is Bolinahaney, and my parish is Kilrush and my Barony is Scarawalsh. There are eight families in Bolinahaney and there are about thirty two people altogether.
Doyles and Whelan are the most common names. The names of the families are Tobins, Neills, Keoghs, and Doyles, two families of Whelan and two families of Levingston. There are six people who are over 70 years of age, Mrs Neill, Mrs Keogh, Mrs. Whelan, Mr J. Whelan and the Misses Whelan. None of these are able to speak but they are able to tell stories in English.
All the houses are slated except Tobin's, Keogh's and Mr. Harry Levingstons. All the rest are fine big slated two-storied houses. Only one house is in ruins and that is now known locally as "Tobins old house".
There is a plantation on Bolinahaney Hill and it stretches into the next townland called Corragh.
