   262 The Care of the Feet The poor class of people did not wear boots until they were able to earn them. Very few children go barefoot in Summer. I do not know of anything being done with water for washing the feet except that it is thrown out. I do not know of any custom or belief connected with it. Sometimes boots and shoes are repaired in the home by the parents. Clogs were worn long ago and are (rarely) still worn. I do not know if leather was made in this district at any time and I only know of one proverb which is "There is nothing like leather. Bab Warren. Raheen, Strahart

   Long ago people did not wear boots till they were 16 or 20 years of age and they did not wear any boots then if tey could not afford them.
   No children go barefoot now except the ery poor and even
