“There is an ould rath near our house, and there is said to be money buried in it.”
Well, anyhow, a man named Peter Brien and some other fellas went to dig for it one night.
They were afraid to make noise, because they said the fairies might hear them, and come and take them. They left the digging so and went home.
The next night they came again, and they brought woollen thread and holy water with them. When they reached the hole, they put the thread in the holy water, and then they put it all around the edge of the hole, and shook the holy water. They dug away for a long time. but they got nothing.- Bailitheoir
