There was a woman by the name of Biddy Murphy (Faree, Foulksmills, Co Wexford).
She started to die about ten o'clock in the night.
They had no habit and they asked the man, who was working in the place, to got to a neighbour's house for a habit.
It was ranin' very hard at the time an' on his way to this house he had to cross a river by means of a plank, which was nine inches wide. He got across alright. By the time he got a habit it was about twelve o'clock. It was dun rainin' then. The moon was shinin' bright an' the wind was blowin' very hard when he started for home.
He started to run as hard as he cud because he was afraid the ould woman would be dead. When he came in sight of the river, the flood was after rising.
