“There is a river called the "Boro" which separates the townslands of Wilton (Bree Co Wexford) and Ballinadara (Davidstown Co Wexford).”
It flows under a bridge named "Victiora Bridge" and it there whirls around.
It is said that there is a crock of gold lying at the bottom of the river wher eit whirls around.
The devil is supposed to be guarding the crock with his tail around it Three Englishmen heard of the gold, and they came in pursuit of it.
When they arrives at the river one of the men got into it, but he was seen soon puled down to the bottom by the devil
The two men that were looking on saw the devil in the form of a serpent, with his hedous head over the water.
They become terrified at the sight, and they took to their heels
