“Boxty bread, was bread which was made very rarely.”
Boxty bread was bread which was made very rarely. It got its name from the number of ingredients from which it was. It was made of raw potatoes mixed with dough which was wetted with buttermilk, and finally it was sprinkled with pepper, salt and vinegar.
It was baked in a hot oven about twice a month.- Collector
