    "Coolnahiney" being at the back of a river it got that name.
    There is a river flowing through Clashawaun and as it goes very fast there is always a white foam on it, and therefore the townsland it flows through got the name Clashawaun.
    It is easy to know that there must be a river flowing though River St. to give it that name.
    As St. Brigid had a church at the back of the fairy fort the surrounding place got the name of Kilcoursey - Cill - Cúl - Side
    There is a bridge spanning the river in Bridge Street and that is how it got its name. On account of the Church being situated on the Upper Street it got the name of Church Street.
