    During the time the Normans were in Ireland they visited Clonmacnois, intending to (to) build a castle there, but to their bitter disappointment they saw that a big rock stood on the place they thought best to build on.
    This rock was so large that it was beyond the power of the Normans to remove it from its position. They prayed to God to tell them some way out of their trouble. God heard their prayers and one night the chief dreamt he saw a certain family called Kilmartin coming towards the huge rock. He thought he saw one of them carrying a bundle like a child. When they reached the rock they left
