- The Care of our Farm AnimalsWe have two cows at home. When we are driving home the cows to be milked we stand at the pasture gate and call "Bail up", "Bail up" and the cows come for it. The cowhouse is roofed with timber and iron and there are two stalls in it with a concrete floor. The cows are tied around the neck with a chain ad the chain is tied to a block with a staple driven into the block. There are two ways of tying cows, you can tie them with a chain or with the old fashioned wooden(continues on next page)
