  1. The most harmful weeds growing on our farm are the mustard-weed sponne and the rag-weed. The wild mustard is very harmful to the soil because it smothers the crop and impoverishes the soil. Where the sponne is to be seen it is quite clear that such land is very poor and also that such land needs more attention. The rag-weed as well as being possesed of an unpleasant smell is also a perfect nusiance on grass land if allowed to grow unchecked for the very simple reason that cattle grazing on such lands are only getting quarter of the feeding they might otherwise get if it were not for these weeds
    Crane's Bill is used for Kidney trouble and is boiled on water for half an hour Broom and ale is an old time remedy for these unpleasant sores commonly known as boils. Broom is boiled in a portion of water then strained and mixed with warm ale
