The old people would never go into a new house on a Saturday or Sunday, Monday was said to be a lucky day to go into a new house on. Some people say that every one has his own lucky or unlucky days.
Most people sowed corn before the 1st March for the grain was better but less straw was got.
The cold days of April are called "borrowed" days. It was said that there was an old cow who was very feeble and she dreaded March, when the 31st of March came she kicked up her heels and said she didn't care now March was over and she would live. But March borrowed one day from April to kill the old cow, and the old cow died, and so March borrowed three(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
