- When the sky is decked with crimson clouds at sun set, it is a sign of very windy and stormy weather. If there is an amber hue in the sky at twilight it is a sign of a thunder storm, or if the birds stop singing it is another sign of thunder.
When the sun rises in a glow of scarlet it is a sign that the day will be fine and clear. When the swallows fly low, or the ducks in the farm yard quack it is a sure sign of snow or sleet, or wet weather.
When the Wild Geese, or sea birds fly inland it is a sign of dry hardy weather. If the snow lingers around the hills, or the ditches for a long time it is a sign that there will be more before(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
