“One time a man died near Crookstown. When he was alive he was very fond of smoking a pipe. The night he died the Banshee was heard crying in the fields.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)one night as the family were around the woman of the house heard a peculiar thumping (cut off). She looked around but could see nothing she only imagined it, but when she went again everyone could hear it. Everywhere they went she could hear the thumping behind. That night the woman died. It is said that thumping was the "Banshee."
