expected. When the wind comes from the south and west we have rain and when from the north we have frost and snow.
The westerly wind brings most rain to our district. When robins come near the house snow is coming.
When the swallows fly low it is a sign of rain and when they fly high it shows good weather is coming. When the cat lies with her back it is a sign of snow. And the donkey always stands with his back to the hedge when it is going to rain. When there appears to be a sheen on rocks and on slates it is a sign of bad weather. When the hills appear to be near we often have rain, but when they appear far away good weather follows. When the wind is blowing dust off the road there is rain coming.
