passed the same way at twilight and heard the sound of music. He stood for a time and soon he saw a great crowd of white horses and riders coming towards him. They passed quite close to him and in their midst he saw his wife. She came close to him and told him she wished to go home but he must bring her. She told him to return on a certain night when "the moon was in full" and that he'd see the same procession. He must then rush to the right-hand side of her horse and seize his wife by the foot and on no account was he to loosen his grasp of her.
On the appointed night the man went to the place and did as he was told. The white horse plunged and threw the woman on the ground. The man got a firm grasp of her foot. But immediately all the riders returned and all began to beat and abuse him unmercifully.
