When he arrived that morn at the brides house himself and the groom's man were dressed in homespuns. The bride nearly died with shame when she saw them.
She got her brother to go away, and borrow a suit for him. He put it on and went off with himself to get married. Side cars were used then or else if they could not get a car they walked two deep to the Chapel. Well when the groom came back that night home to his father's house, and when the old father saw the suit on the son, and heard the whole story, he was forever disgraced that a son of his would go and get married in a borrowed suit-a sin who was descended from the Chieftains of Tullyhaw: the old father had lots of race pride: the marrying put it out of the son's head entirely, though he was the owner of a good farm of land and a good horse.
