- In summer when the frog turns black it is a sign of rain. It is also a sign of rain when the shadows of the trees are in the water. When the wind blows from the north or the east is a sign of good weather. When the moon is on her end it is a sign of good weather. If she is on her back it is a sign of rain. The smoke going down to the ground is a sign of rain. When the the frog croaks in the ditches it is a sign of rain. When a dog eats grass along the road or in the field it is another sign of rain.
