- You may be sure that travelling people come to Cavan and very often at that. They are usually the same people that come. Most of them are poor, badly dressed and they take alms.
They sell; basket work, fireside stools, tables, carpets, rugs, toast forks, wire goods, tin ware, brushes, lace work, pins, needles, collar studs, collar pins and flowers made with coloured paper.
I am not sure where they always buy their supply of goods, but one day I saw some travelling folk buying a large supply of goods in Connolly's Stores, Main Street.
They are not always welcome because there is usually trouble of some kind in the town. They often stay for a week or two at a(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
