- There is a rath in the town-land of Annagh, and it is a few perches from the public road. The rath belongs to Joseph Kelly's parents and it is a few yards from their house. The rath is surrounded by a very deep shore. There are some white-thorn bushes on the edge of the rath. It is said that the Danes lived in that rath to protect themselves from wild boars, and wolves, and other wild animals. There was a hole in the centre of the rath, and it had to be filled up so that no cattle would fall down into it. I am told that no people cut trees from about it, because they are afraid.
