- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Around here many and varied are the celebrations that the place on the eve of May day. The farmyards are all confusion whilst the demonstrations are being carried out. In some places two fire are lighted and all the cattle are driven between them to precent the varied playing their weird tricks on the town. In other parts flowers are strewn at the entrance to the byre to prevent the varied entering. In the places a branch of a rowan tree is affixed in the dung hill. This is decorated with flowers to keep the varied from taking the milk of the coins. Whilst all this is going on the varied themselves are busy attending to the unprotected parts.According to marriage customs the different days of the week are noted for their luckiness are un-luckinedd as the following rhyme shows.
"Monday for health
Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
Thursday for losses
Friday for crosses
