  1. Bread was made from corn long ago in the district wheat was also used. I have never heard of querns being used locally.
    The different kinds of bread were made were potato-bread, boxty-bread, oaten-bread, wheaten-bread, and corn-bread.
    Potato-Cake
    The ingredients used in the making potato-cake are mashed potatoes, flour, and salt.
    First of all the potatoes are thoroughly washed and scaped. When boiled they are masked until no lumps remain.
