When the giant went to bed and had gone to sleep, Jack got up, put the golden horse on his back and started for the beam tree.
When he got to the top of the tree he ran down it. But when he got to the bottome of the tree he looked back and he saw the giant coming after him of the top of the tree. He ran in to the house and asked his mother for a hatch. The mother wondered what he wanted with the hatchet but she ran out and saw his running for the beam tree. When he got to the tree he hit it with the hatch twice, the tree fell and giant was killed. Then he took the horse into the house to his mother. He struck the horse with his stick and he said " one side silver and the other side gold" and silver and gold fell from the horse. The son and his mother had plenty of money and they lived very happily for the rest of their lives. Written by :Joe Cochrane
