    spun or woven in this district now. In former days there used to be a Factory for that purpose. Men used to have thir clothes made of home manufactured cloth.
    The cloth now is not nearly as heavy or warm as it used to be. The tail-ors have a tape and scissors and lapboard and very heavy irons for pressing. The shirts are usually made in the homes out of Flannelette and cotton. In olden times the shirts were made from flax spun into linen and tow. Socks and stockings bought in the shops. In former years the wool was got from the sheep's back and spun at home on a spinning wheel for the making of socks and stockings.
