- The people had three meals in olden times. Their breakfast, dinner, and supper. They had their breakfast at eight o clock, their dinner at one o clock, their supper at seven o clock. People worked in the morning before having food. The meals consisted of porridge, oat-meal-bread, milk and potatoes. Potatoes were not eaten at every meal. Cows milk was drunk. People sat around a table or potato basket in the center of the floor. The potato basket was hung on a peg in the wall. Oat-meal bread was eaten. This was made by mixing oat-meal and salt to a stiff paste with(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
