- In olden times people us to go on foot to Marriages and were married many a time in the Priest's House. They used to meet at the cross roads where they danced and sang.
They used to have fiddles with them,.
In those days the weddings lasted for a few days.
Straw-boys used to visit the house also.
They used to get all sorts of presents.
Mondays and Thursdays were thought lucky for marrying.
Marry in May and you will rue the day.
Sometimes the people would be married in their own houses.
If the people had to go a long journey they would go on horses. When they would be coming home(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
