In the evening the bride and groom leave on their honeymoon. Before midnight the straw boys visit the bride's home and they generally get a pound. With this they buy drinks. When they get money they take the straw costumes and burn them outside the bride's house. In days gone by a hauling home was held and those attending the wedding raced home against one another on horseback, but the wives did not sit on the same horse as their husbands.
