- (continued from previous page)Near our house the is a field called "the stone field" This field is the property of my uncle. In the centre of the field, there is a huge heap of stones, said to have been collected by the Danes to be burned, so that the people could not build houses. They did not get a chance to burn them as they were driven out of the country, in the year 1014, by Brian Boru. It is said that there is gold hidden in the stones, and guarded by a little man, about a foot high. He was often seen walking around the field, at night
- It is said there are beautiful gold and silver goblets, hidden under the ground in Cahir Castle.
One evening, two men went to the Castle to seek the gold and silver goblets. They went up a stone stairs, having a shovel each. They kept digging until they were tired and then one man said to the other "We will leave it until the next evening". They left their shovels after them and as they were coming down the stone steps they heard someone. At first they thought it was only(continues on next page)- Informant
