    and even yet people regret that the forge was not kept working. The Rudys are all dead and gone.
    They say that when Cromwell was in Ireland, during his war, that Will Reidy shod his horse for Cromwell when he was passing one day. They say, too, that pikes for the Fenians were made at this forge before the rising at Ballingarry.
    The ruins of the house where Geoffrey Keating was born are situated very near the forge.
