- There still remains the ruins of an old forge in Killmalogue, which once belonged to the Reidy family. There were two brothers of them working in the forge. One of them was a yank and the other a farmer. And their people before them worked as smiths. There is a stream and a well near the ruin. The roof is slated and the door is shaped like a horse-shoe. There is one fire-place within. The Reidys used to shoe horses and asses out in the open air. They used to mend all ploughs and harrows and make spades and shovels.
