   Adieu! my lonely cottage dell,
   I am going far oer the main,
   Far in a foreign land to dwell.
   With thee I can ne'er remain.
   The rock-field is still dear to me.
   As in youth it did alure
   For to sit upon it's mossy banks
   And gaze upon the Suir

   It's the gentle rushing river
   To me shall be the same,
   Where the leafy branches quiver
   In Kilcommon's lone demain.

   If thou could speak in the after years.

   Of youth, and love and beauty,
   Whilst pondering in the shade,
   Or resting on that terrace cote,
